Cozy, food 3*, but the staff is friendly and the overall atmosphere very comfortable. Prices are reasonable.
MoreFood was all really good and very reasonably priced. Cooked on a flat grill and served right onto hot flat grills at the counter. They have an English version of the menu, which was quite helpful in explaining each item.
MoreGreat food, quite affordable and very nice staff. They have English menus and also speak it.
MoreSuper satisfying meal! The pork belly egg omelette was so well cooked - egg smooth and pork done perfectly. Get the mixed okonomiyaki! Enough for 2 to share. Expect to wait for seats as this outlet is quite small. Worth the wait though!
MoreGood with reasonable price.
Very friendly owners and delicious food.
A great cozy diner in Kyoto with good value. There are tables but also a diner counter with a hot plate portion. Great for keeping your food hot for the whole meal! We ordered the two person special for 3000yen+tax. Four delicious courses: Amazing omelet wrapped pork with some kind of fragrant spice, grilled yam, noodles with squid, shrimp and beef, and finally a tasty okonomoyaki with all the fixings (more omelet type than pancake). So good! See other reviews for a picture of the English menu... I forgot to snap one.Staff English is limited, but they were very welcoming! Just wish it wasn't our last night in Kyoto so that we could come back and sample more of the food.Thank you for a wonderful meal.
MoreGreat okonomiyaki in a small cafe setting. We had the special mixed okonomiyaki and fried noodles. They were kept warm on the grill at our table.
MoreUnfortunately we discovered this Jewel only the last night before leaving Kyoto
It's a little bit too salty for every dish. Pork omelette is quite good. Wanna try 100g steak next time.
MoreDelicious, authentic, quick and well priced. Try the sweet potato ice cream.
Food was amazing, I regret not having time to visit more than once!
Wife and I popped in around 8:30pm on a Sunday. It's a cozy little spot and the language barrier wasn't an issue (English menus too). Drinks were cheap and the food was cheap but tasted like it should cost much more. Great for trying out a lot of great dishes you may not have had before.
MoreComfort food at it’s best!
This was opposite out Airbnb and was a lovely surprise after we popped in for lunch on a rainy day. Visited menu, veggie and meat eater friendly. Aubergines were great and the okonmyiaki was superb. English menu, friendly staff, felt authentic.
MoreGreat, authentic Teppanyaki. Fantastic food.
This place was fantastic. We ate here three times in two days. The food was sooooo good. Also affordable and fast. If you have to wait for a table, it is definitely worth it.
MoreAmazing! Ate here on all 3 nights of our time in Kyoto, it was that good we just kept going back. Highly recommend the beef fried noodles!
MoreGood food, friendly staff, draft beer, English menu.
great place for a small mealGreat fry noodles
Friendly staff, reasonable price, good food
There aren't a ton of restaurants in this part of Kyoto, which can be a problem if you're staying at the Westin. Nevertheless, we walked past here and thought we'd give it a try. They serve Osaka style okonomiyaki - cabbage-based batter instead of the noodle-based Hiroshima style. The table in front of you does have a heating element to keep your food warm as well. My party got corn, okonomiyaki, and yakisoba and everything was fantastic. It tasted great, the portions were generous, the price was excellent and you don't need to know Japanese to eat here. We went back two more times we liked it so much!
MoreLovely food and really nice staff
Tonpoyaki with ponzu and yam crispy with soy sauce are delicious.Pork kimchi originally had a dull impression, but recently it has become a taste of eating.Cleanliness is normal for an okonomiyaki restaurant. The iron plate is not charred but slippery, so for slippery lovers. Not for charring lovers.Since there are occasional smokers, people who are not good at cigarettes are better off late when there are few people.
MoreHad the set menu, was not disappointed. Am writing this at the counter. If you're nearby, go fill your boots.
MoreYakisoba and okonomiyaki was perfect. And there is English menu. Perfect!
Very friendly staff. They speak English. The food is approx. 10-12$ US per person. Great place to try teppan yaki, okonomiyaki and topei.
MoreIt's ok, not that good really.
Nice team and good food. Generous portions and fresh okonomiyaki. The tables are warm and the food is still cooking while you eat.
MoreThis was one of our best meals in Japan. The staff are friendly, a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. Highly recommended to visit here. We went twice!
MoreI loved the place. Customer friendly . The menu is simple but enough varieties . Okonomiyaki was above average. I recommended it for all tourists.
MoreWe had a very good meal in this family run restaurant.
good, fast, super nice staff, cheap. highly recommendable. I enjoyed the okonomiyaki
MoreThey have an English menu plus English speaking staff. Not only is the service good, the food is as well. They only downside is that they allow smoking
MoreIt is an okonomiyaki restaurant where locals also go to eat. For okonomiyaki, we recommend the oil dregs topping.Egg fluffy "Kinpei" is also a must! !
MoreGreat food, great service
For the French people. Frankly go there! If you want to eat in a small neighborhood restaurant, posed, with a caring team and with dishes typical of the region, do not hesitate! And trust their suggestions. Personally I took an Okonomiyaki suggested by their chef .. a treat !!!For 20 euros each, we eat more than we need and have an excellent aperitif (with amuse bouche)An address to do if you want to taste an atmosphere and typical dishes!
Morethe service was fast and the food was delicious!
My fiancè and I visited this restaraunt twice during our stay in Kyoto and everything we had was flavorful. Cash only, resonable prices, and english menu provided to help in ordering dishes. First visit we ate their 3,000 yen meal for two people with a taste of their popular dishes, the second time we diverted and ate other varieties from the menu such as kimchi, miso soup and different varieties of okonomiyaki. I drank 300ml of local kyoto sake both times and really enjoyed it with my meal. They also serve deserts here, the desert menu is hanging on the walls around the restaraunt. If you enjoy the taste of matcha I recomend their green tea icecream that comes with 4 pieces of matcha icecream covered with matcha powder - it was matcha heaven! While there we witnessed other tourists as well as other couples dining here that spoke Japanese. The staff are friendly and attentive to all customers.
MoreAwesome Japanese food..
Omg
Authentic "local" Kyoto experience. Consistently good. Fair pricing.
Best okonomiyaki I had in Japan.
The food was amazing. We ate there 2 times in 2 days. Everything is fresh. The prices are great specially for the value that they gave. They also can serve parties of 8 because they can bring the tables together. If you are a picky eater you will love this place. 5 of us ate really well for about 3700 yen without drinks.
MoreA cosy and welcoming shop to try out teppanyaki and Kansai delights. We tried the set menu with fried yam, okonomiyaki, fried noodle, and ham omelet. All was delicious and we'll priced.
MoreThe food was pretty tasty. It was something we've never tried before, so we decided to go for it. A little greasy for our taste.
MoreTraveler Friendly. English menu and description available. Not necessary to cook by your selves. Cooked and Served.English speaking staff available. Yummy foods.
MoreVery tasty okonomiyaki. Friendly service and reasonable prices. English menu is available.
MoreGreat place for some fun casual eating. Speak good English
We luckily lived across the road in an Airbnb during our stay in Kyoto, and I can say that their food is excellent and authentic! The fact that there is an English menu and the staff speak sufficiently to order and to have a unhampered meal it is highly recommended and makes the sometimes daunting experience a relief.
